Abstract
„Once human beings realize they live inside a hyperobject, their political choices are limited. They can continue to tolerate the status quo, or they can build a shelter within the hyperobject for as many lifeforms as possible. What is required is a phenomenological geography that can imagine this shelter at any scale with any “content” and any format. I introduce the concept of phenomenological geography, and explore what such a geography could do to generate and map the future.„
Timothy Morton ist ein einflussreicher zeitgenössischer Denker und derzeit Rita Shea Guffey Professor of English an der Rice University in Houston, Texas. Bekannt wurde Morton vor allem durch seine Arbeiten im Bereich des „object-oriented ontology“ (OOO) sowie durch seine prägenden Beiträge zur ökologischen Theorie.
